Narrated by Katie Cross
An Audiobook Novella in The Network Saga
In Alaysia, magic is power.
in this exciting short story.
I loved this novella! It is fun to read more history and story from the various characters. I enjoyed hearing more about and from Ava and how she came to be intwined into my favorite stories!
I just got done listening to this book and thought it was awesome! Katie did an excellent job reading it. I enjoyed hearing Avas story and hearing more about the gods and demigods. It was good to have the explanation in more detail on how Ava left her land and ended up with Bianca.
I just finished The Lamplighter's Daughter!!This story filled in gaps and was great to hear from Ava directly!!
Great narration Katie! There is something special about listening to an author read their own books. I love that I'm hearing each word exactly as it was intended. This little snippet into Ava's story was captivating. I can't wait to read more about her in the next book.
The title leads one to believe that The Lamplighter, Tommy(?), is Ava’s father but nothing in the story sustains that belief. There is no link as to why or when her ‘tagada’, Baxter, had been assigned to Ava or left her. It is unclear who actually stabbed Krista, or why Ava was given the amulet but not Krista’s ring as she was dying. There is not much talked about regarding Alaysia. Other than these questions to ponder, I loved the book! I appreciate being selected for your ‘test audience’. Since the return of my cancer and chemo medications, reading for very long is hard as it really strains the eyes. I was delighted with the addition of audio to your stories. You have a very pleasant speaking voice and the familiarity with the book shines through in your voice.
