The seventh book in The Sisterwitches Series.
The constancy of change.
Isadora Sinclair has harbored a secret dream for years.
She longs to work for the education office.
Finally, her wish has manifested.
Sort of.
But when intrigue at the castle sets Isadora and her Watcher magic on an unexpected path, she must face questions she never anticipated. What does she truly want? What kind of work matters most? And what happens when the future she imagined begins to shift beneath her feet?
Meanwhile, Sanna Spence has a new friend.
Damien is not what she expected.
When they are forced to work together to save the forest and mountain dragons from starvation, Sanna must step into another season of courage, trust, and change. Her bond with dragons has shaped her life, but this mission may teach her something deeper about what she really wants.
And Max is growing older.
That does not mean he is ready to retire.
Right?
He needs a break, not the end of his career. He has given his life to duty, leadership, and protecting the witches he loves. But when the High Priestess suggests the truth he does not want to admit, Max must ask whether exhaustion is trying to tell him something.
Maybe he is tired.
Maybe letting go is not the same as giving up.
Can Max release the expectations that have defined him?
Can Isadora follow her Watcher magic into a new purpose?
Can Sanna help save the dragons while discovering what she truly wants?

Sisterwitches Book 7
Change is the pattern for this book in the Sisterwitches Series. Max must make an important decision, he looks to Charlie for guidance but isn’t ready for Charlie’s answer. Isadora realizes that what she has been searching for in a career isn’t what she thought; but she can use the magic to benefit the education of Alkarra. We also see the newest hatchling, Reebis (aka The Red). Katie keeps us enthralled with our favorite characters, we are nearing the end of the series, many changes.
Book 7 is when Sanna learns that change is a good thing, even when it is hard. Luteis is the brood sire and has responsibilities for the other dragons. He also has a new whelp to care for. All of this during an unexplained lack of successful hunting. Sanna makes a friend and together they help the dragons survive.
In the meantime, Isadora must again accept that the magic is changing and wanting her to go into a new direction; this time looping back to Isa's long held desire to help in the network education system.
This is truly a great book and sets the stage for the bohemoth that is book 8 (to be released in Nov 2023).
So this is the seventh installment, we have been with this characters as they grow older and maybe a little more wiser. We have gotten to a point in which change is inevitable. I love how Katie has managed to help us understand how even the idea of change can affect a person, how as we get older, we start considering different things in life. Loved the book! As always with Katie’s books, I cannot wait for the next one to come out! Just glad I do not have to wait over a year for it!!! Hehehe
The dragons face a crisis, Maximillion faces a tough decision and Isadora looks for a new way to help her network. This installment of the series is a book of transitions and changes. As always, it brings us deeper into the characters and Alkarra itself.
Another delightful book in the Sisterwitches series. Isadora finds a purpose while Max and Sanna find themselves in situations very new to them. A great read!!!
