The eighth book in The Sisterwitches Series.
Until peace is achieved, one cannot know the future.
Charlie has always brought magic and mayhem to Maximillion Sinclair’s life.
But when Torr is taken captive by rival Western Network tribes, things are about to get even more exciting for the two beloved brothers.
Max may be trying to understand what life looks like beyond endless duty, but family, danger, and old loyalties have a way of pulling him back into the center of trouble.
Meanwhile, Sanna Spence is swept into a crisis of her own.
The long-lost sea dragon Mushi whisks Sanna to the Eastern Network, where she is pulled into a dangerous conflict between sea dragons and mermaids.
Sanna has spent years learning how to listen to dragons, serve them, and survive beside them. But sea dragons are not forest dragons, and this war may require more than courage, loyalty, or good intentions.
Can Sanna help the sea dragons survive?
Or will her interference create even greater problems?
Isadora Sinclair, meanwhile, receives The Complete History of Watcher and Defender Magic and cannot wait to sit down and read.
Unfortunately, her quiet study plans do not last long.
An unwinding dark magic, strange changes to the paths, and a lurking enemy begin to encroach on Isadora’s reading time—and her very life.
As peace slips farther away, Sanna, Isadora, Max, and Charlie must each face the future without knowing what waits on the other side.

Bring your kleenex box - this installment hits all the feels!!! This next story brings more adventure than ever. It's a great wild and epic saga!!
"Sisterwitches Book 8" is another “unputdownable” novel by Katie Cross: suspenseful, engrossing, and wonderful all at the same time. It’s a bit darker than some of the other Sisterwitches novels, as if the Almorran magic that begins to appear in Alkarra (and will be a “future” problem for the Network Series novels) darkens the overall mood. We have the characters that we love: Isadora, Sanna, Maximillion, and Charlie, all a bit older, coming to terms with their aging bodies as they try to fulfill their self-assigned quests. We also have Luteis and his dragon brood, all delightful as ever. The descriptive writing is so beautiful, and the feelings of loss are so real, that you’ll need a box of tissues nearby as you read the book. Sisterwitches Book 8 has some powerful themes – the futility of warfare, the pointlessness of revenge, the difficulty (for some) of fully accepting those other than themselves, the danger of duplicitous leaders, and the love of family and friends that helps us cope with the tragedies of life. I am always amazed that despite the magical world that permeates these novels, they feel so incredibly real and so truly human in their depth of emotion and understanding.
If you’re on book 8, it means you are not only following this beloved characters, by now you are sure to be emotionally invested… Amazing continuation to the story, unexpected turns everywhere… I was emotionally drained after finishing, but very much satisfied with the turn of events. As always, there are events one wishes could be postponed, but life is life, and keeping it real is part of what makes this series of books so good. Great read.
Thank you Katie for another incredible book! Can’t wait for book 9!!!
I adore magic, dragons, Alkarra and her inhabitants. Katie grabs me, my heart and my breath and promises me adventures, magic and connection. Which she once again has delivered with delicious language and visual delights. This story brings all the feels, and leaves me both sated and wanting the next installment. I also look forward to other stories that are crying to be Written amid this series, as fast as Katie answers questions, Alkarra offers more mystery to explore...
Sisterwitches Book 8
Be ready for this one! From the first page to the last - tissues are needed. This book is intense - an adventure awaits Max and Charlie as they search for Thor. Mushi makes another appearance in this book, can Sanna help the sea dragons? Isadora experiences dark magic in the paths, time will tell what this means for Alkarra. “Perhaps the curse of age was losing all those you love”. Only two more books in this series, looking forward to book 9.
